Our mission for this race is to shine a light on the desperate need to end human trafficking by partnering with Street Grace and The Atlanta Dream Center

Who is Street Grace?

Street Grace is an Atlanta-based organization who is dedicated to ending the sex trafficking of children 17 and under right here in our area. Street Grace mobilizes community resources – financial, human, and material – to help individuals and organizations effectively fighting sex trafficking through awareness, empowerment, and engagement.

Who is The Atlanta Dream Center?

The Atlanta Dream Center is an Atlanta-based organization who dedicated to helping homeless, commercially sexually exploited and at-risk children of Atlanta.  The Metro Kidz School tries to reach at-risk children before they are influenced by the environment around them. They are able to provide a proper education, hot meals, mentoring, and activities after school.  The main mission for the Atlanta Dream Center is to Reach, Rescue, and Restore men, women and children all over the Metro Atlanta.

LEARN THE TRUTH

  • Atlanta was named by the FBI as one of 14 US cities with the highest rate of children used in prostitution (Georgia Governor’s Office for Children and Families).

  • The average age of entry into prostitution or commercial sex market for children is between 12 and 14 years old (Street Grace).

  • In Georgia, 12,400 men purchase sex with young women in a given month; more than 27,000 men purchase sex with young women in Georgia more than once per year (Schapiro).

  • Approximately 100 adolescent females are sexually exploited each night in Georgia (Schapiro).

  • In Georgia, adolescent females controlled by the child sex trafficking trade are sexually exploited by an adult male on an average of three times per night (Schapiro).

  • 42% of men who buy sex either seek out young girls, or are willing to disregard all signs that the woman they are about to have sex with is an adolescent (Schapiro).

  • 65% of men who purchase sex with female children live in suburban areas ouside the I-285 permiter (Street Grace).
