Curriculum

If you were to walk into any one of the FBHS Peer Leadership classes through the years, you would quickly come to the realization that it is a very unconventional classroom. Our curriculum is also unlike that of most other standard academic or elective classes. Throughout the school year, students work on planning the various events that the class is responsible for as well as read and apply the writing of Dr. Tim Elmore and John Maxwell to their lives. These authors are widely known and accredited as being some of the most influential authors and leaders of our time. Not only are students learning about leadership, but they are able to act on it by taking charge of the several events the Peer Leadership class organizes.

In addition to the book material, in the 2018-2019 school year Peer Leadership

started the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. With this program the class learns how

to take charge and learn about how Chick-fil-A's success came about with strong

leadership. There are leader labs the class does monthly and at the end of the

year the class puts a service project together. This year Peer Leadership has

decided upon the Senior Sock Hop in addition to the annual Priceless 5k.

"Peer leadership has shaped me like no other class has. It taught me how to manage my time and grow in communication skills. The things I was taught in peer leadership were invaluable."
